Pitcher César Rodríguez was sensational for the Azua Zafiros Blanco in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Moca Segadoras de Cafe. Rodríguez picked up the win, and it was well-earned. Rodríguez went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-1. Claudio González recorded the save, his 6th.
The Zafiros Blanco got a big at-bat from center fielder Francisco López. For the game, López was 1 for 3 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Azua a 2-0 lead.
"I like what I saw today," said Azua manager Juan Sánchez, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
Azua's record now stands at 21-10, placing them first in the Liga Dominicana de Beisbol Invernal.
