One Run Not Enough for Playas Dorada
The Azua Zafiros Blanco did just enough to secure a victory over the Puerto Plata Playas Dorada, 2-1, at Zafiros Blanco Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Jesús López. López got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. López allowed 1 run. The first-place Zafiros Blanco improved to 26-13.

Juan Morales, who finished 2nd in the LDBI-DOM WL in doubles with 18 in 2035, came through for Azua with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. The right fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 2 runs batted in.
