Zafiros Blanco Fall to Cajeros de Fortuna, 3-2
|
San Cristobal Cajeros de Fortuna starter Ignacio Filgueira turned in an exceptional performance against the Azua Zafiros Blanco at Ballpark of San Cristóbal, resulting in a San Cristobal win, 3-2. Filgueira got the win, improving to 1-6. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. Filgueira allowed 2 runs. The save went to Gabriel Tovar, number 5 for him.
In the bottom of the sixth, San Cristobal right fielder Alonso Montoya put his team on top. With no one out and a runner on 1st, he hit his 7th home run of the year. Azua pitcher Jaime Moreno served it up. Just like that, the Cajeros de Fortuna were ahead, 3-2.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Montoya. "And not try to do too much."
The Cajeros de Fortuna saw their win-loss record go to 19-29. At the same time, the Zafiros Blanco fell to 31-17.
