Lucky Rodents Fall Short, 2-1, at Rutgers
|
In a low-scoring contest, Rutgers pitcher Paco Hernández was marvelous in his team's 2-1 win. Hernández got the win, improving to 6-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Hernández allowed 1 run. Mike O'Quinn collected save number 14.
Rutgers grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, Brian Taylor delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 2-1 in favor of the Old Queens.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Taylor told the Rutgers Citizen.
The Old Queens' win now puts them at 29-27.
