Persians Beat Shastas, 5-2
|
Michigan State beat Houston on the strength of starter Jack McKeaver's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. In 6 innings, McKeaver surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. The save was credited to Jacob Snyder, his 18th.
Michigan State took a 5-2 lead on Greg Ames's 6th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Houston pitcher Jim Dyke in the bottom of the seventh.
"We've got a great group of guys," McKeaver said, "and we're having fun right now."
The Persians have an impressive 36-19 record.
