Bain Pitches Lions to Shutout Victory
|
The San Antonio Calzones of Laredo met their match today in Amsterdam hurler Jake Bain. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 6-hit shutout.
"He just worked us over," San Antonio skipper Roberto Ortega said. "He probably didn't even need a shower after the game -- he barely worked up a sweat."
In the 11-0 victory, Bain whiffed 6 and gave up 2 walks.
Bain has made 14 starts, tossed 88.2 innings, struck out 59 batters and walked 17. His record is 4-6 with a 3.55 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .258 batting average.
