The Scottish Claymores and Charleston Statesmen were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Charleston left-hander Brant Metcalf helped his team edge Scottish by the score of 3-2. Metcalf kept the opposing lineup in check. Josh Vázquez got the save, his 2nd in 3 chances.

Charleston relied on the hitting of Koji Matsuoka to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Statesmen on top, 3-0. For the game, Matsuoka had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Winning never gets old," said Metcalf.

Charleston now sits in third place in the Imperial League Dixie at 54-86.
