In a tight game between the Cy-Fair HS Bobcats and the Seton Hall Prep Pirates, pitcher Elmer Murphy was terrific on the mound. The Cy-Fair HS right-hander helped his team to the 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was Murphy, now 4-1. He tossed 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Bobby LeBlanc locked down his 9th save.

Cy-Fair HS took advantage of an error in the top of the sixth inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Vic Rodríguez hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Cy-Fair HS in front, 2-1.

"The old adage is true," said Rodríguez. "Good pitching stops good hitting."

Seton Hall Prep now has a 6-game losing streak.
