The Angoon Avalanche beat the Fairbanks Grunts by a score of 4-1. Angoon center fielder Manny Ramos deserved the lion's share of the credit. Ramos went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Avalanche. Kamiel Hessing earned the save, his 8th. Their 38-43 record puts the Avalanche 4th in the Alaskan League Fisher.
Ramos had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 3-1 slider from Félix González, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Avalanche a 4-1 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Ramos.
