Winds Lose Late, 3-0
|
Skagway Prospectors starter Chris Abbott was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Taku Winds, 3-0. Skagway reliever Thomas Garner picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Roberto Cervantes took the loss. Bobby Brown finished to wrap up his 17th save.
Runs were few and far between in this one. So, John Dyer's at-bat with no one out in the top of the ninth was crucial. The Skagway left fielder drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to give his team a 1-0 lead.
"This team's hitting on all cylinders," said Prospectors manager José Fierro.
Their 35-66 record puts the Prospectors 5th in the Alaskan League Fisher.
