Vulcans Resilient in 3-2 Win Over Ewa Beach
The Mauna Loa Vulcans got a strong performance from pitcher Ming Bei, who stymied the Ewa Beach offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Recoil Stadium. Beau Myers picked up the win in relief for Mauna Loa, while Millard Phillips took the loss. The win takes Mauna Loa to 2-2.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 17th inning, when Mauna Loa first baseman Dane Shawcross, facing Haruki Matsui, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Vulcans the 3-2 win.

"What an ending!" said a jubilant Bei.
