8-2 Win Gets West Virginia to 49-29
The West Virginia Alleghenies dumped the New Orleans Trendsetters, 8-2, in large part due to right fielder Zhao-dao Lew. On the day, Lew went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Alleghenies. Zi-jing Xian earned the win for West Virginia. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 8-4. Cheh Zhang picked up the save, his 1st.

Lew contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for West Virginia in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-0, Lew took a fastball from David Sánz and stroked the home run to right. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Alleghenies to leap in front, 3-2.

"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Lew. "I think we showed that here."

The Alleghenies improve their record to 49-29 with the win over New Orleans.
