Imperialists Fall, 5-3, to Berin, Volcanoes
|
The Kilauea Volcanoes stopped the Ewa Beach Imperialists, 5-3, at Foresters Ballpark. The Volcanoes got a big game from Adam Berin, who went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Kilauea reliever Pablo López picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Troy Thomas took the loss. The Volcanoes sport a record of 11-26.
Berin had a timely hit for Kilauea in the bottom of the eighth. With Ewa Beach trailing 3-2, he turned a first pitch sinker into a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 5-3, Kilauea.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Kilauea skipper Chris Simpson. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
