Galindo Goes Deep Twice, Helps Remuda Top Oilers, 6-2
|
Two good teams met in a late-season showdown.
The timely hitting of Thomas Galindo helped the Boise Remuda down the Long Beach Oilers, 6-2. Galindo was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Remuda. Herb Williams converted his 45th save in 51 tries.
With Boise leading 3-0 in the top of the seventh, Galindo hit a cutter from Omer Schaar for a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Remuda ahead, 6-0.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Galindo told the Boise Daily News.
With the win, the Remuda have a record of 88-68.
