Chinook Best Orcas, 4-0
|
Ramón Ávila never let Victoria get something going. The Portland right-hander commanded his changeup in pitching the Chinook to a 4-0 win. The 4th-place Orcas have lost 4 consecutive games.
The Chinook got a big at-bat from first baseman Alfredo Martínez. For the game, Martínez went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 33rd double of the season gave Portland a 2-0 lead.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Ávila said after the game.
