Edo pitcher Larry Emerson did his part in helping his team beat the Fushigi Yugi Celestial Warriors, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Emerson picked up the win for Edo, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. Hong-yeol Chong earned the save for Edo, his 4th of the year.
The outcome might have been different for Edo, had it not been for Ernesto González, the four-time All-Star . González stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Edo up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Enjoyed this one," González told the Edo Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
With the loss, Fushigi Yugi drops to 7-5.
