Claymores Beat Calzones of Laredo, 2-0
|
In a tight game between the San Antonio Calzones of Laredo and the Scottish Claymores, nobody was more important for the winners than Lorenzo Castanieda. Castanieda was masterful in the 2-0 win. Kyle Colquhoun, credited with the save, is now 2 for 3 in save opportunities. Scottish, at 52-25, occupies first place in the Imperial League Trans Atlantic.
José Cruz dealt the Calzones of Laredo a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and Scottish leading 1-0, Cruz, who led the IL in doubles with 49 in 2036, hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Cruz.
