Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Panthers
The Winter Springs HS Bears got a sterling performance from pitcher William Montoya, but the DeSoto Central HS Panthers still prevailed, 2-1. Montoya threw 5.1 innings allowing 1 runs. Alexis Crum closed it out for his 14th save. After today's action, DeSoto Central HS sits at 20-18; Winter Springs HS slips to 21-17.

DeSoto Central HS used the timely hitting of David Brooks to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Panthers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Brooks told the DeSoto Central HS Chronicle.
