Evas Lose Late, 8-2

The Bakersfield Bears defeated the Shin Seiki Evas, 8-2, in Sovereign League action at The Oaks at Aera Field. Bakersfield pitcher Oliver Flores had a standout performance. The Bears now have a record of 31-47 with the win over Shin Seiki.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Corbin Taylor came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Shin Seiki pitcher Fernando Sánchez, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Bakersfield on top, 2-1.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Bears manager Travis Dickey. "This one was nice to get."
