Gigans Fall Short at Glendale, 3-2
|
Niigata got a terrific performance from pitcher Jorge Salinas, but it wasn't enough to beat the Glendale Skyelanders. Glendale won the Skyelanders Ballpark contest, 3-2. Salinas threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Glendale occupies 4th place in the Rocky Mountain League West at 38-33.
Pablo López was the walk-off hero for Glendale. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Skyelanders right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Great to get the crowd on its feet," López said.
