Hit Parade: Stark Gets Cycle
Requiring speed, power and regular contact, the cycle is often seen as a test of a complete hitter. For Gerard Stark, consider that test passed.

The 23-year-old left fielder hit for the cycle at Hoods Ballpark today to lead the Laval Islanders to a 14-5 win over the Sherwood Park Hoods. All told, Stark delivered 4 hits in 5 at-bats with 2 runs batted in and 2 runs scored.

"It feels good of course, but I'm not going to kid anyone -- there's a lot of luck in hitting for the cycle," he said after the game. "Several unique things have to come together all in the same game."

Gerard Stark singled in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, walked in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Caio Bourbon in the 9th.
