Codgers Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Palm Springs Codgers racked up a win at Jurassic Park, bumping off the Fargo Dinosaurs, 4-3. Brant Haines, who started for Palm Springs, pitched effectively for his team. Palm Springs pitcher Ángel Reyna got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Joseph Rhodes got the loss. The 4th-place Codgers are now 36-45, the Dinosaurs 37-46.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Chan-su Ch'on came to bat in the top of the 13th. Facing Fargo pitcher Joseph Rhodes, he hit a 3-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Palm Springs on top, 4-3.
Haines pitched well, despite being a bit under the weather. "To be honest, I was sick before the game," he said. "Just a stomach bug."
