For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.

The Taipei Wardens had to overcome a big game from Kure right fielder Jody Jones to leave Taipei Tianmu Baseball Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning 6-5. Jones went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Taipei reliever Tom Dodd was credited with the win, to go to 3-1. Joe Evans took the loss for Kure.

The Wardens procured the win, in large part because of designated hitter Armando Rúbio. In the bottom of the ninth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

Rúbio said afterward that he was glad to contribute to the win.

With the win, the Wardens improved to 29-51.
