Steel Dragons Beat Celestial Warriors, 8-4
|
The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
The Kuwana Steel Dragons beat the Fushigi Yugi Celestial Warriors, 8-4, at Steelfire Stadium. Kuwana designated hitter Luis Rodríguez had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Hubert Jacobs, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-3. He pitched 7.2 innings, giving up 10 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2. In-chor Kim recorded the save, his 5th.
In the bottom of the third inning, the Steel Dragons grabbed the lead when Dean Walden rapped a two-out single. Kuwana was trailing 2-1, when Walden hit a 2-run single off Orlando Moya to put his team in front, 3-2.
"Winning never gets dull," said Walden.
Kuwana is second in the Trinity with a record of 60-48.
