Celestial Warriors Win Thriller, 2-0
|
The Fushigi Yugi Celestial Warriors went home winners at Brown Bears Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Roberto Guzmán. Guzmán stifled the Gwangju Jade Tigers, enabling Fushigi Yugi to grab the 2-0 win. Fushigi Yugi reliever Jesús Solís got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Tai Ye was tagged with the loss. Fushigi Yugi occupies third place in the Trinity at 61-50.
Kouhei Tani electrified the crowd in the bottom of the ninth when he took Gwangju pitcher Tai Ye deep. His 2-run home run sent the Celestial Warriors home winners.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Fushigi Yugi manager Van Landrigan.
