Sandgnats Deal Badgers 9-6 Loss
|
Crystal Lake and Kalamazoo duked it out and the Sandgnats came out victorious.
Carl Burrough was a vital contributor to the 9-6 Crystal Lake victory over Kalamazoo. The Sandgnats center fielder was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The save went to Alejandro Rojas, his 18th this season.
Crystal Lake used the clutch hitting of Roberto Ortega to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Sandgnats ahead, 7-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Burrough told the Crystal Lake Observer.
Their 68-76 record puts the Sandgnats third in the Sovereign League Great Lakes.
