Akiyama Helps Kookaburras Beat Aces BC, 6-0
|
The North Sydney Kookaburras stopped the Auckland Aces BC, 6-0, at The Nest. The Kookaburras got a big game from Yoriyuki Akiyama, who was 3-4 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. North Sydney pitcher Juan Rivera got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Jorge Arroyo got the loss. The defeat makes Auckland 3-4.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth when Akiyama hit a solo home run. It propelled the Kookaburras into the lead, 1-0.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Akiyama told the North Sydney Daily.
