Alfaro Jacks Two Home Runs in 6-1 Wagga Wagga Win
|
The Wagga Wagga Crows stopped the Auckland Aces BC, 6-1, at Tetsunori Koike Field. The Crows got a big game from Jesús Alfaro, who went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Reliever Rodrigo Rincán picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Walt Wright took the loss. The Crows, now 9-1, have had a terrific start to the season.
Michel Dias had an important at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fourth, when he hit a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season put Wagga Wagga on top, 4-0.
Alfaro said his team "played with focus."
