A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Auckland Aces BC and Tauranga Taniwha.

Auckland Aces BC starter Ramiro Suárez was in fine form. He led his team to victory over the Tauranga Taniwha, 4-1. Suárez, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 1 run.

Sergio Núñes hit a 2-run home run off Mark Thompson in the bottom of the first, which put the Aces BC ahead, 2-1. In addition to the homer, Núñes had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.

"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Suárez. "Those qualities define our team."

Tauranga, now 2-11, has gotten off to a terrible start.
