The Auckland Aces BC relied on the hitting of designated hitter Jorge Román to stop the Wagga Wagga Crows, 6-1. For the game, Román was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Auckland reliever Jacopo Ciottone got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Ernesto Vélez was tagged with the loss. With the win, the Aces BC have a record of 17-15.
With Auckland leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Román hit a changeup from Ernesto Vélez for a grand slam home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Aces BC ahead, 5-0.
"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Román said. "That's how it goes."
