Bitters Down Crows, 4-3
|
Melbourne designated hitter Ton Missel had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Wagga Wagga Crows, 4-3. Masami Kamihara, credited with the win, is now 3-1. He allowed no runs on no hits. Melbourne has an impressive 27-12 record.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Kichibei Kouki came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Wagga Wagga pitcher Munro Torr, he hit a first pitch knuckle curve for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Melbourne on top, 4-3.
"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Melbourne field general Travis Mitchell.
