Taniwha Lose to Devils in Walk Off
|
Hobart starter Micheal McShane put a stranglehold on the Tauranga offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Devils to a 3-0 win. The winner was Hobart reliever Johnny Glover, now 3-1. The loser was Luis Ocasio. At 25-25, the Devils are currently 6th in the Intercontinental Baseball Coalition Tasman League.
Eduardo Rodríguez electrified the crowd in the bottom of the ninth when he took Tauranga pitcher Luis Ocasio deep. His 3-run home run sent the Devils home winners.
"The ending was a real humdinger," Rodríguez told reporters after the game.
