In a low-scoring tilt between the Tauranga Taniwha and the Auckland Aces BC, Ronald Pittman was the difference-maker. The Tauranga right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. In 7 innings, Pittman surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Ed Lowry recorded the save for Tauranga, his 6th of the season.

Tauranga used a clutch hit from Augusto Domínguez to get the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Taniwha ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
