Stevedores Beaten by Kookaburras, 6-1

The North Sydney Kookaburras topped the Brisbane Stevedores, 6-1, with youngster Louis Eveleigh playing a key role. Eveleigh went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Kookaburras in the win. North Sydney reliever Alfredo Acevedo was the winner. His record is now 4-0. The losing pitcher was Graham Geary. The 5th-place Kookaburras improved to 36-38.
The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth when Eveleigh hit a grand slam home run. It propelled the Kookaburras into the lead, 5-1.
Eveleigh attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
