The Brisbane Stevedores stopped the Tauranga Taniwha, 5-1, at The Ship Yard. The Stevedores got a big game from Walter O'Mullan, who was 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. The 5th-place Stevedores raised their record to 39-40.

Brisbane grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and the bases loaded, Francisco Cisneros delivered a 2-run single, to make it 3-1 in favor of the Stevedores.

In postgame comments to the Brisbane News, Cisneros said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
