Kouki, Raiders Fall to Modernists
Khartoum got a terrific game from right fielder Okura Kouki. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Asmara, 10-8. Kouki hit 3 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored three times. Juan Ruíz was credited with the save for Asmara, his 1st of the season. The 6th-place Modernists now have a win-loss record of 11-13.

The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Cade Ingram came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Khartoum pitcher Owen Brenton, he hit a 1-2 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Asmara on top, 8-7.

"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Ingram.
