In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.

Asmara starter Miguel Longoria pitched well against the Addis Ababa Rifters at The Rift. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. Longoria got the win, improving to 4-3. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. Longoria allowed 2 runs. Freddy Reyes collected his 3rd save.

In the top of the third inning, the Modernists grabbed the lead when Kazuhiko Tenno rapped a two-out home run. Asmara was trailing 1-0, when Tenno hit a 2-run home run off António Marín to put his team in front, 2-1.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Addis Ababa skipper Mario Barrera, "and it cost us."

Their 18-18 record puts the Modernists 5th in the Intercontinental Baseball Coalition Red Sea League.
