Mogadishu Gets 5-4 Win
|
Mogadishu and Asmara duked it out and the Pirates came out victorious.
Asmara got a terrific game from first baseman Bertrand Trelawny. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Mogadishu, 5-4. Trelawny was 2-2 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. At 32-20, Mogadishu is in second place in the Intercontinental Baseball Coalition Red Sea League.
Mogadishu used the timely hitting of Kenny Reed to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Pirates ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Asmara skipper Chris Cochran.
