Akira Deal Warriors 12-9 Defeat
|
The Neo-Tokyo Akira beat the Duluth Warriors, 12-9, at Doyle Buhl Stadium. Lane Woodroffe was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The 26-year old first baseman was a menace to Duluth all day. Jack Lynch sewed up the save, his 18th. With the win, the Akira improved to 33-64.
The Akira got a lift from shortstop José Maldonado, who in the top of the second stroked a 2-1 changeup into center for a 2-run single. It was his 85th hit of the season and put the Akira ahead, 4-1.
"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Woodroffe.
