Raiders Lose to Rifters in Walk Off
The Rift was the site of quite a ballgame.

The Addis Ababa Rifters withstood an impressive performance by Khartoum second baseman Doug Farmer to defeat the Raiders, 16-12, at The Rift. Farmer slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. Guan-pei Que, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2.1 innings.

Hidetada Asano electrified the crowd in the bottom of the ninth when he took Khartoum pitcher José Alba deep. His grand slam home run sent the Rifters home winners.

"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Asano.

The Rifters raised their record to 33-55.
