The Santo Domingo Decepticons beat the Punta Cana Mamajuanas, 7-4. Santo Domingo pitcher and Wichita, Kansas, native Steve Erwin led the way. Erwin, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Teo van den Broek closed the door for Santo Domingo, picking up his 3rd save of the year.
Claudio Tobías, the 19-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Tobías contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the eighth inning to put Santo Domingo up, 4-2.
"Good to pick up this win," Erwin said.
With the loss, Punta Cana falls to 5-3.
