The Punta Cana Mamajuanas dealt the Santo Domingo Decepticons a 4-3 loss at Safeway Grounds. Manuel Matos was the star on offense. He went 2-4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. Punta Cana reliever Pedro Garza picked up the win to move to 1-0. Tom Arden suffered the loss. Punta Cana is off to a hot start at 6-3.

Matos contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Punta Cana in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 3-1, Matos took a cutter from Tom Arden and stroked the double to right-center. His 1st double of the season allowed the Mamajuanas to leap in front, 4-3.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Punta Cana manager Koto Hayashi.
