Flying Fish Zap Privateers, 9-1
|
The Bridgetown Flying Fish knocked off the Port Royal Privateers, 9-1, at Tanks Ballpark. William Fairlie was a big reason Bridgetown won. The designated hitter went 3 for 6 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Wilson Otero nailed down his 1st save. For Port Royal, now 3-12, the season is off to a dismal start.
A decisive at-bat came in the top of the third inning. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, the batter, Marcos Jiménez, reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It made the score 1-0, Bridgetown, and helped them go on to win.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Jiménez.
