Aruba got a terrific game from left fielder Alan Evans. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Puerto Plata, 8-4. Evans went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Puerto Plata reliever Will McBeolain picked up the win to move to 1-0. Kozue Nagai suffered the loss. Aruba drops to 8-8.

Puerto Plata used a clutch hit from Weldon Allen to get the win. The right fielder drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Pacos ahead, 8-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"The most important thing is that we won," Allen said.
