Flying Fish Win Another One, 7-6
|
The first-place Bridgetown Flying Fish took on the Punta Cana Mamajuanas in front of a spirited crowd.
Edward Derrick helped his team muscle past the Punta Cana Mamajuanas, 7-6. In the game, the Bridgetown second baseman was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winner was Bridgetown reliever Wilson Otero, now 4-0. The loser was Yoshinobu Koumura.
With Bridgetown leading 3-1 in the bottom of the third, Derrick hit a slider from Yoshinobu Koumura for a grand slam home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Flying Fish ahead, 7-1.
"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Derrick.
With the win, Bridgetown upped its record to 15-4.
