Shiroi Neutralizes Decepticons
|
Spirited fans greeted the Santo Domingo Decepticons for their clash with the Bridgetown Flying Fish.
Ryosei Shiroi never let the Decepticons get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Flying Fish to a win, 4-1. Santiago García got the save, the 13th for him this season.
Shiroi's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 9 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 4 hits. Shiroi, who is tied for 7th in the IBC in strikeouts with 58, goes to 5-0 on the year with 58 strikeouts.
"Ryosei was pounding the zone," said Bridgetown manager Norio Heida.
Bridgetown is now 30-9, 8 games up in the Intercontinental Baseball Coalition Paradise League.
