Boyer Lifts Zephyrs to 10-3 Win
The Reno Zephyrs stopped the Crystal Lake Sandgnats, 10-3, at Ellison Field at Dole Park. The Zephyrs got a big game from Steve Boyer, who went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 4. José Ojeda, the winner, goes to 8-4. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with no walks and 5 strikeouts over 8.1 innings. With the win, the Zephyrs improved to 59-38.

With Reno leading 5-0 in the top of the fourth, Boyer hit a 3-run home run off Crystal Lake hurler León Vega. It was the 12th home run of the season for Boyer and put his team ahead, 8-0.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Boyer said.
