Bears Rally to Eke Out Win
|
Bakersfield Bears starter Oliver Flores was in fine form against the Palm Springs Codgers at The Oaks at Aera Field, leading his team to a win, 4-3. Bakersfield pitcher Don Darragh got the win. He's now 1-0. Bertrand Baverstock was tagged with the loss. Bakersfield occupies 5th place in the Sovereign League Desert Hills at 39-60.
The Bears relied on left fielder Bernardo Romano for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 13th, he delivered, hitting a solo home run to seal the deal.
"Put a star next to this win," Romano said.
