Badgers Pitching Ravaged by Nishikawa
|
The 5th time was not the charm for Hideki Nishikawa today.
The left fielder for the Aurora Borealis hit the milestone today at Portage Park, but it was the Kalamazoo Badgers that salvaged a 6-4 victory. Nishikawa finished with a 5-for-5 line at the plate, and it still wasn't enough.
"He was not an easy out, that's for sure," Kalamazoo manager José Guillén said to the press in the postgame interview. "I'm just glad we held everybody else in check and got the win."
Nishikawa declined to speak to reporters at length following the game, saying only that "no loss is a good one."
Hideki Nishikawa singled in the 1st, hit a three-run double in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
A look at his current stats shows Nishikawa with a .323 average, 1 home run, 7 RBIs and 2 runs scored. He has played in 8 games.
