The Scottish Claymores knocked off the Gloucester Fishermen, 11-0, at The Castle. Rob Woodard was a big reason Scottish won. The first baseman hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 6. Vicente Díaz was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed no runs on 4 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. With the win, the Claymores have a record of 65-36.
Woodard put Scottish up, 11-0, when he hit a 3-run home run off Juan Pérez in the bottom of the eighth. His 11th home run of the season helped the Claymores capture the win.
"Good win for us," said Woodard. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."
